Punch cards are issued at no charge upon request.
When a card has accumulated 10 punches, it can be redeemed for $10.99 off lab services. Punch cards cannot be redeemed for cash or retail items such as film, cameras, or accessories.
There are two ways to receive a punch:
When the negatives from an order are picked up within 30 days of order completion.
If the customer selects “Discard Negatives” or purchases “Return Shipping*” at dropoff.
The only way to not receive a punch is if you ask us to return the negatives but fail to pick them up before the specified deadline.
The purpose of this program is to incentivize customers to be realistic about pickup and therefore minimize the waste of labor and materials created when customers request that we return their negatives but never come back to pick them up. Historically, this amounts to thousands of dollars per month, which is significant for a small business.
In the unusual event that negatives are lost or damaged and cannot be returned to the customer, a punch will be issued upon request in addition to any refund or store credit already issued.
At this time only in-person film developing orders at the store are eligible for the loyalty program. Transactions with only retail items and no film developing services are excluded.
Mail-in and regional dropbox clients can request the $10.99 credit upon completion of 10 orders with return shipping or discard negatives. These requests will be processed manually via telephone or email.
Punch cards are non-transferable. When the card is issued, the customer’s name will be written on the card. The name on the card must match the name on the order. Cards that do not bear a name, or where the name has been altered or obscured, are invalid and will not be punched or redeemed. Multiple partially-used punch cards bearing the same name can be combined upon request.
Lost or destroyed punch cards will not be replaced. A card is considered destroyed if the printed name has become unreadable, or the number of punches cannot be accurately discerned.
You may not split an order into multiple transactions in order to receive additional punches.
If you submit multiple orders in one day, you may only receive 1 punch for that day.
If you pick up multiple orders, you may receive 1 punch for each date that an order was submitted.
Punches will not be issued retroactively.
Punch cards do not expire, but if the loyalty program is discontinued in the future pre-existing punches will be converted to store credit on a prorated basis.
We will make every effort to administer this program fairly, however any disputes will be adjudicated solely by the store management. We reserve the right to make changes to the terms and conditions of this program at any time. In the case of suspected fraud, we may take actions including permanent exclusion from the loyalty program or a permanent ban from the store.
Examples:
No Retroactive Punches
You picked up an order but forgot to request a punch. You come in the next day to ask if we can punch your card retroactively. A punch will not be issued.
You are dropping off an order for “Discard Negatives” but forgot to bring your punch card. You ask if you can bring the card back later for a punch. The answer is no, but you can begin a new card and combine them later if desired.
One punch per day
You drop off an order at 12:30PM and select “Discard Negatives” and receive a punch. If you return at 4:00pm and submit another order, you may not receive a second punch that day.
You drop off one order on the 14th, one on the 15th, and one on the 16th, each for “Return Negatives”. You return on the 27th to pick up negatives from all 3 orders. You receive 3 punches.
You drop off two orders on the 14th and one on the 15th each for “Return Negatives”. You return on the 27th to pick up negatives from all 3 orders. You receive 2 punches.
Must Pick Up By Deadline
You drop off an order on January 14th. On January 20th, you receive a “Ready for pickup” notification, specifying a deadline of February 20th to pick them up. You then return on February 22nd to pick up. Although past the deadline, the negatives have not yet been discarded but you do not receive a punch.
Non Transferrable - Card Must Match Name on Order
You come to the store to dropoff an order under your own name, accompanied by your friend who has an existing loyalty card with a few punches. Your friend cannot have their card punched for your order, but you can begin a new card under your own name.
You are dropping off an order on behalf of a client, the order will be under the client’s name. We can punch the client’s card but we cannot punch your card. The cardholder does not need to be present but the name on the order must match the name on the card.
You have accumulated 10 punches on a card and it is now eligible to redeem for a $10.99 lab credit. You give it as a gift to a friend who is planning to drop off an order soon. Your friend cannot redeem the card, but they can establish a new card under their own name.
Not Replaceable If Lost Or Destroyed
You lose your wallet containing a card with 9 punches – almost ready to redeem! We cannot replace the punches on your card. The value of your card is lost permanently. We can give you a new card, but you have to start from zero.
Your card with several punches gets food spilled on it. It is now sticky and gross, but the name remains readable and the number of punches can be counted. We will replace it with a new card with the same number of punches.
Your dog chews on the card, and we can no longer be sure how many punches it has. We will not replace the card.
No Fraud - No BS - Disputes adjudicated by store management
You have access to a punching tool similar to the one we use in the store, and fill your card with extra punches. Because each punch is tied to a specific date and order in our system, we are able to detect this when you attempt to redeem the card for a discount. We will ban you from the store permanently. Don’t do this.
